Oliver Westbrook: National Champion!
We’re delighted to share that Oliver Westbrook won the Lexus Junior National Championships U14 Boys doubles, with his partner Kamran. The second seeds in the event, they won the final 6-2 2-6 10-8, with a clutch end to the match tiebreak. He was unable to repeat in the singles, reaching the round of 16, but becoming a national champion is an incredible achievement. It was a great week for Bucks with 7 other players joining Oliver in qualifying for the event, a number that sho

The girls travelled to Boston to play in Group 1B, with a chance of qualifying for the national finals. It was all to play for on Day 1, with the winners of each playoff group facing off on the Sunday. The girls started against North of Scotland and it was a real battling performance. Mia and Gracie got singles wins to put us at 2-2 before the doubles. Both matches were tight and went to match tiebreaks, unfortunately neither would go our way. Scarlet and Gracie lost 5-10, wh

Women's Over 35s County Cup
In August our Over 35s team competed at Eastbourne. Our women had narrowly missed out on promotion in 2024, so their ambition was to go one better in 2025. On Day 1, the sun was shining and Caroline kicked off against the Derbyshire No.2 whose heavy slice off both wings was tricky on the lush grass courts of Devonshire Park. After coping with the drop shots, Caroline won in straight sets, followed by a straightforward win by Helen at No.1 singles. Nicki and Louise formed a ne

The girls travelled to Chichester in Division 2C, missing some key players from their squad, but with a team ready to compete. Day 1 started against Sussex with some difficult singles, but an inspired debut win for Lulu and a doubles win for Jessica and Anna gave the girls some hope for the rest of the weekend. The girls bounced back in the doubles, with Jessica and Anna both winning their singles and Lily narrowly losing a match tiebreak. 2-2 into the doubles, but some incon

Under 11 Boys County Cup
Our boys team travelled to Aldershot to play in the Division 1a playoff, trying to follow in the footsteps of the 10&Under team who qualified for the national finals. The team spirit was high and we were hoping to carry this energy into the singles matches against Avon. Unfortunately, they would prove to be too strong, despite Oliver winning in a 10-8 match tiebreak, we were 3-1 down before the doubles. Oliver and Theo fought hard in a 4-2 4-3 loss, meaning we would need a bi

Under 10 Girls County Cup
The 10&Under teams both competed locally in May with their regional qualifying groups putting the girls in Abingdon and the boys down the road at Great Missenden. The girls had three debutant players and a very difficult group including Herts and Surrey. Against high level opposition they would have to perform at their best. Sofia H had a narrow loss in her first singles, while Sofia C produced the performance of the day to win 4-3 4-1 at number 1. This would prove to be our

Under 14 Girls County Cup
The girls were playing at Halton in Division 1A, where a win would qualify them for nationals, but the standard was very high. The girls got off to a great start against Hertfordshire, with Papaya and Charlotte both coming through match tiebreaks to make the score 2-2 after the singles. All to play for in the doubles, but it was not to be, Papaya and Tessa losing 6-10 in their match tiebreak and a 2-4 loss overall. Onto Hampshire & IOW, with the singles rubbers split again af

At the other end of the age scale, our 8&Under teams were competing in their first county competitions at Gosling, Hertfordshire. Due to the strength and depth of our 8&Under county training programme, we were able to field two teams in each event. Both teams were competing in groups of 5 against 2 teams from Hertfordshire and 1 from Bedfordshire, playing 8 singles and 2 doubles rubbers in each match.
