12&Under Boys County Cup 2026
Team: Daniel Caswell, Evan Khare, Charlie Mehta, Oliver Settle, Max Whibley, Theo Whibley.

Group 1A: Buckinghamshire, Avon, Cambridgeshire, Essex, Hertfordshire, Oxfordshire
Venue: Queenswood
The 12U boys took to the courts at Queenswood for the LTA 12&U Team County Cup competition. The boys were in great spirits leading up to the event and with the extra motivation of trying to qualify for the National finals.
The first match was against the mighty Hertfordshire team, always tough opposition and as expected this match went to the wire. Bucks split the singles with Theo and Daniel picking up wins. Onto the doubles, Oliver and Theo battled through the first set tie break 16-14 and then again in the 2nd set tie break 11-9, it could not have been closer. Evan and Charles played against tough opposition which meant the match would be decided in a shoot out. With all players keen to be involved, it was Theo and Charlie chosen to battle it out, however they couldn’t quite manage to get the result. Oxfordshire were up next. Charlie and Dan stepped up first with another 3 set win from Dan and a narrow loss for Charlie. Theo and Ollie went on to clinch their singles in 2 sets taking us to a 3-1 lead going into the doubles. However it wasn’t over yet, the swans saw themselves a set down in both matches and then the doubles was postponed due to bad light. Day 2 saw the resumption of the doubles, the swans took off with light speed and won a match 10-8 in the third with brothers Max and Theo teaming up for victory and a tight loss 10-8 for Daniel and Evan. A win for Bucks 4-2.
After the group stages Bucks played Cambridgeshire to fight for a Bronze medal. Dan and Ollie secured their singles wins, and Theo with a huge win 10-8 in the third, the boys were in a great position to end the weekend on a high. To follow suit, both doubles fixtures went into the third set with the Swans finishing strongly as a team to get over the line and take a 5-1 win.
The players gave it their all for the county and represented Bucks well in the height of battle. Great team comradery and support off court, which definitely made the difference to the players. Thank you to all the parents and to Coach Mike for the support across the weekend.
