venue funding

Bucks County Tennis is committed to supporting venues, clubs, schools, coaches, and community projects across the county. We offer a range of funding opportunities, including loans, development grants, and participation grants to help improve facilities, increase participation, and support the growth of tennis at every level.

Please explore the sections below to discover more about the loans, development grants and participation grants we have to offer:

  • We can provide loans to venues registered with the LTA.  Loans will be unsecured, interest free, and repayable in equal six monthly instalments over 5 years.

Loans of £25,010 (or £30,000 where no grant is offered) will be considered for unincorporated clubs or associations (such as most Tennis Clubs are).

Loans of any amount up to £25,010 (or £30,000 where no grant is offered) will be considered for corporate entities or large partnerships.

If your venue is planning a major facility project, please contact us as soon as possible. Accounts, business plan, evidence of other funding and planning permission will be required in due course for formal approval of the application.

If you would like some more information, or if you would like an application form, please contact Anthony Heald at admin@buckstennis.com

    • Development grant funding up to £5,000 is available.

    • Development grants are for significant improvements, not just to maintain and slightly improve existing features.

    • Grants for converting floodlights to LEDs are limited to £250 per court - for venues installing floodlights on unlit courts, the full grant would still be available.

    • Grants are for up to £5,000 and a maximum of 50% of project costs for venues that need the funding for the project to go ahead.

    • Usually only one grant will be given within a 3 year period, however, venues who have recently applied for a grant of up to £1,500 can apply for additional funding.

    • Grants will not usually be given for the development of Padel courts.

If you would like some more information, or if you would like an application form, please contact Anthony Heald at admin@buckstennis.com

  • Anyone can play tennis, no matter their age, background or gender - our sport is for everyone.

Apply for a grant for projects and initiatives that help support the work we are doing to open up tennis and make our sport accessible and enjoyable for players of all ages, backgrounds and abilities.

We provide participation grants up to a maximum of £1,500 of project costs. They are for new initiatives aimed at increasing participation in your venue.

ASPIRANTES PROGRAMME

The Bucks County Tennis Aspirantes Programme is an initiative focused on developing players between the ages of 4-8 at various clubs across the county. Funding is available for clubs with a clear mini tennis pathway, giving them the opportunity to train twice a week and introducing them to competition. The programme has the following aims:

• To create through a strong network of clubs a regular stream of 8&U players into county sifts and county organised competitions.

 • To support coaches to create a fun and engaging environment to develop skilful players with a love of tennis.

 • To inspire more 8&U players within Bucks onto the performance and competition pathway.

In order to achieve these goals, along with the funding, there will on and off court get togethers for coaches and players, support from our County Performance Officer and team competitions in the form of the Aspirantes Cup for participating players.

If your club is interested in applying for Aspirantes funding, please have a look at the below documents for more information, criteria and the application form. If you would like more information on the Aspirantes Programme, please contact our County Performance Officer, Jemima King: cpo@buckstennis.com

Each year, Bucks Tennis provides funding support to selected players through the Bucks Junior Elite Performance Grant programme. Grants are awarded to players who meet specific criteria, including a high county or national ranking in their age group, a strong commitment to Bucks Tennis and its values, and a clear, dedicated training and competition programme.

Performance grant

  • 1)    Appropriate player pathway –

    a.    Competition: 16U/14U Tennis Europe, 18U ITFs, British Tours, Pro League, Domestic National events Grade 1,2&3, 14-18&U age groups.

    b.    Regional Centre training invites

    c.   GB representation

    d.    Senior county team player

    2)    International/National Ranking progress (link between number of competitions played and players ranking). A national ranking inside top 75 within own age-group. Note – if a player is a year younger in their age group and are ranked top 125 their application will be considered.

    3)    Commitment to Bucks Tennis (County Cup (junior/senior), County Closed, 12 Counties, helping in county training sessions). Only exception would be if the player is injured or competing in an ITF/TE. A commitment back to the County will be expected and outlined in any support offered and the commitment from the previous year will be noted. This will include competing for the county at county cup events that the player has been selected for and competing at the junior county closed. If the player doesn’t compete in the county cup or county closed from the previous year then funding may not be offered for the following year unless it can be justified.

    4)    Program Quality – appropriate number of hours training (squad, individuals), S&C, hits, other sports in relation to their age.

    5)    Player commitment – being proactive in their own development, organising self-hits, gym, stringing own rackets, entering tournaments, hitting with younger Bucks players, gaining coaching qualifications etc.

    • Players receiving a performance grant from Bucks tennis will be asked to assist in two junior (8s,9s,10s,11s,12s) county training sessions, free of charge.

    • The grant will be paid in two instalments; the second will be released following a progress report sent by the County Performance officer, Jemima King, in June/July of the year the grant is awarded.

    • Players can reapply for the 2nd instalment if not eligible for 1st tranche.

    • The player, individual coach and parents must sign the Bucks Tennis player/parent/coach expectations and Bucks values form and the sub-committee reserve the right to withhold the grant if it is felt that the agreement has been broken.

    • If a player has successfully been awarded funding, funding will only be paid once the child’s county training fee has been paid.

  • Please complete the application with the help from your child’s individual coach:
