9&U Boys County Cup 2026

The Buckinghamshire Boys 9&Under team recently travelled to Gloucester to compete in the County Cup against Gloucestershire, Oxfordshire, and Surrey. It was a fantastic day of tennis, showcasing the talent and sportsmanship of our young players.

Team: Oscar Skepper, Joseph Reid, Damon Kalatian, Charlie Pierce, Mason Battye

Captains: James Woodwards and Dilan Mistry

Match Highlights:

  • Buckinghamshire vs Surrey: Despite their best efforts, the team faced a tough challenge against Surrey, who proved to be formidable opponents. The match ended in a 6-0 loss, providing valuable experience and lessons for future encounters.

  • Buckinghamshire vs Gloucestershire: Our team put on a strong performance, winning convincingly with a score of 5-1. The players demonstrated excellent teamwork on and off court. Great determination displayed, securing key points in both singles and doubles. At number 1, Oscar came up against a great tactician, who made great use of the whole court. Our numbers 2,3 and 4 all kept their concentration to take 3 singles wins. The following doubles was great to watch with great communication between players, resulting in a strong victory.

  • Buckinghamshire vs Oxfordshire: Continuing their winning streak, Buckinghamshire triumphed again with a 5-1 victory. The boys showed resilience and skill, maintaining focus throughout the matches in both singles and doubles. It was clear to see that the boys had taken on board our Bucks Values and Doubles Rules from training sessions as they looked much more at home on the doubles court than their opponents.

Overall Performance: The Buckinghamshire U9 Boys team displayed great spirit and sportsmanship throughout the day. Their victories against Gloucestershire and Oxfordshire highlight the focus shown in the county training sessions, while the match against Surrey offered a learning opportunity to improve further.

We are proud of our young players’ efforts and look forward to their continued development in upcoming matches. Congratulations to all team members for representing Buckinghamshire so admirably!

Next Steps: Training will focus on strengthening court awareness and how to use the ball to create more space on court and how to recover and take full advantage. We are excited to see how our team progresses in the upcoming events

Go Swans!
