12&Under Girls County Cup 2026

Group 2C at Chichester

Opponents: Sussex, Norfolk, Bedfordshire

Last weekend the 12U girls took to the courts in Chichester for the 12&U LTA County Cup event. They had a busy weekend competing against three other counties with each tie consisting of four singles matches and two doubles matches. The girls were excited to travel away for the event and create some memories on and off the court. Full of energy and eager to display the Bucks values the girls took on Sussex first. The score was a 5-1 loss but 5 of 6 matches had a tie-break decide either the set or the match. Next up was Norfolk. The girls stormed to a 3-1 lead after dominating performances by Sofia C, Jess and Samika, with a tight loss for Sophia H in a 3rd set at 2. The doubles however proved to be a tighter affair with both pairs missing out in a 3rd set breaker. However, no need to worry, the resilient swans bounced forced and won through the tie break shoot out.

Day 2 was a local derby versus Bedfordshire. Bucks knew that if they won, 2nd place would be guaranteed! Sofia C had a tough battle versus the strong number 1 Jaela but the other three swans took control with Sofia H and Lulu winning in straight sets and Samika in 3. The match was not over yet and with doubles you sometimes never know what may happen. Sofia H and Lulu couldn’t find the win versus the first pair but an inspired performance by Jess and Samika, who came away victorious with all three sets going to a tie - break, Bucks won two and therefore came 2nd in the group.

Thanks to the mighty captain Steve for captaining and supporting the girls at the county event but also at county training. Always passionate to help the girls learn on and off the court! A huge thank you to the parents for their support throughout the weekend.
