The girls travelled to Boston to play in Group 1B, with a chance of qualifying for the national finals. It was all to play for on Day 1, with the winners of each playoff group facing off on the Sunday. The girls started against North of Scotland and it was a real battling performance. Mia and Gracie got singles wins to put us at 2-2 before the doubles. Both matches were tight and went to match tiebreaks, unfortunately neither would go our way. Scarlet and Gracie lost 5-10, while Emmeline and Elizabeth lost 11-13.

The girls would show great resilience to come back from their disappointing start to the weekend. Emmeline and Scarlet won their singles rubbers against Notts, this time the team would bounce back and play more confident doubles. Scarlet and Gracie won 4-0 4-0 and Emmeline and Elizabeth fought hard to get the win 10-6 in the tiebreak. Onto Sunday and a 3rd/4th playoff, the girls continued to show their passion and continued belief. 1-3 down after Gracie won her singles, both doubles were won in straight sets to secure a draw and finish the weekend on a high.

An excellent weekend of tennis and great match experience for this group of players!

Team: Scarlet Gogol, Emmeline Maisey, Mia Taank, Gracie Tickler, Elizabeth Vellacott
