Under 11 Girls County Cup

The girls travelled to Chichester in Division 2C, missing some key players from their squad, but with a team ready to compete. Day 1 started against Sussex with some difficult singles, but an inspired debut win for Lulu and a doubles win for Jessica and Anna gave the girls some hope for the rest of the weekend. The girls bounced back in the doubles, with Jessica and Anna both winning their singles and Lily narrowly losing a match tiebreak. 2-2 into the doubles, but some inconsistent play in the heat cost both matches.

Day 2 saw one match remaining against Dorset after Bedfordshire had pulled out. Belle joined the team, playing in her first yellow ball event. Three rubbers came down to match tiebreaks, with Anna battling back to win her singles, while Lily had a tough 9-11 loss. 4-1 down before the final doubles rubber, but Jessica and Anna ended the weekend on a high, winning 1-4 4-1 10-6. A loss overall, but the weekend was a success with the players showing great attitude, togetherness and teamwork.
