The girls team qualified for Division 2a in Lincoln and got off to the best possible start on Day 1, beating both Bedfordshire and Lincolnshire 6-0. Day 2 would prove much more challenging, with the first match against Leicestershire deciding who would make the final. Bucks started strong and were 3-1 up after the singles rubbers, losing one 5-10 in a match tiebreak.
Match tiebreaks would decide the doubles rubbers too, unfortunately they both went Leicestershire’s way, meaning that the girls would have to regroup and find their nerve to win the tiebreak shootout. And they did, winning their way into the final against Cambridgeshire. The girls ended a great weekend by beating them 4-2 to win their Division, a shame that they couldn’t progress any further in the cup. Thanks to all the players, coaches and parents again!
