Marlow Tennis Academy directed by Richard Mole sees a huge increase in play

Marlow Tennis Academy directed by Richard Mole sees a huge increase in play.

Marlow Tennis Academy has three tarmac courts but nofloodlights. Richard primarily runs development coaching courses for beginner and improver standard. His courts are also available for pay and play.

During the first lockdown Richard used and extended the LTA marketing ‘Play your way’ and spent a lot of time on Social Media. This was extremely successful with over 200 new players. He was particularly pleased with the significant increase in 20-35 years old and the number of new ladies. He kept his court fees down at £5, made special offers, continued to advertise, ran a very successful free Happy Tennis fun-day.

He has no membership fees and uses bookingbug.com which gives readout directly to mobile phones.

There were many learnings for him and he said this was the best LTA initiative he had been involved with.

Many more players then usual re- signed for this Autumn 2020. Richard is using Maidenhead Leisure Centre (part of Furze Platt School) floodlights for their new Rusty Rackets group. He hopes to have a ‘social’ link with the Bowls Club which has a bar on its premises. Additionally has been able to run two of his School Clubs (out of five).
